Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are finally reuniting for a new movie, Us Weekly can confirm.
Bullock and Reeves, both 60, will be starring in a “propulsive romantic thriller” from Amazon MGM Studios. Screenwriter Noah Oppenheim, who previously penned films Jackie and The Maze Runner, will write the script.
No additional details of Bullock and Reeves’ new project have yet to be shared.
The last time Bullock and Reeves worked together was on the 2006 romantic drama The Lake House. Before that, they costarred on the 1994 thriller Speed.
Last year, Bullock and Reeves attended a special 30th anniversary event for Speed in October 2024. The pair got together to reflect on their time working on the action film that took place on a bus.
“We knew we were doing something wacky,” Reeves said of the film’s plot while Bullock joked, “I was behind the wheel of a projectile, so I was just happy to be alive at the end of the day.
Bullock and Reeves formed a fast friendship on set. Bullock recalled how Reeves was a total gentleman on set especially when the actress had wardrobe mishaps.
“I had this dress that was very light, and I had a bodysuit underneath,” she shared. “When we started rehearsing, I noticed that the velocity of air would shoot the skirt over my head, the bottom part. He had to keep my integrity intact by keeping things that didn’t need to be seen on a 17-foot screen hidden. That’s what I remember of that day.”

Months before reuniting with Reeves, Bullock expressed her desire to share the screen with her friend one more time before time runs out.
“Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera,” the Oscar winner said during a joint appearance with Reeves on a May 2024 episode of the “50 MPH” podcast.
Bullock added that she didn’t care if she and Reeves were in “wheelchairs” or “walkers” she wanted to make it happen — with the right script of course.
“If someone writes something brilliant and it puts us in the right place at the right time,” she added. “You can’t force it.”
Reeves echoed similar sentiments.
“It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there’s something that wasn’t done,” Reeves said. “I would love to work with you again before our eyes close.”
While Bullock and Reeves have had amazing chemistry in their past projects, the twosome never dated off-screen — despite having crushes on each other. Bullock joked about their potential romance years later.
“Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him,” Bullock said in a November 2021 interview with Esquire. “So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know. But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being. Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
