Following the backlash over his strange post about Hailey Bieber’s Vogue cover, it’s been a rough few days in the public eye for Justin Bieber. And now, his latest social media move has stirred up even more controversy.
In case you missed it, on May 15, Chris Brown was arrested in the UK and charged with grievous bodily harm in connection with an alleged attack that took place in a London nightclub in 2023. After spending nearly a week in custody, the singer was released on $6.7 million bail on Wednesday, giving him the freedom to perform his upcoming world tour, which is scheduled to begin on June 8.
Yesterday, the singer celebrated his release on Instagram, posting a photo of himself disembarking a private jet with the caption: “Cook, remain humble. ❤️” Thousands of fans took to the comments, and among them was none other than Justin Bieber, who both liked the post and commented: “welcome home.”
For context, Justin and Chris have a pretty long history as collaborators. Way back in 2011, they worked together on the song “Next To You” from Chris’s F.A.M.E. album. They collaborated again in 2019 on a track called “Don’t Check On Me.”
Now, fresh off the back of Chris’s latest public controversy, it’s fair to say that people are not happy to see JB supporting him so publicly.
Justin has yet to address the backlash to his comment, but we’ll be sure to let you know if he does.
