Catherine Blair Bowman<\/strong>, the wife of ex-Maroon 5 bassist Mickey Madden<\/strong>,<\/a> has accused her husband of physically attacking her after she confronted him about \u201csexting teenage girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to court documents that were filed on Wednesday, July 30 in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by multiple outlets, Bowman is seeking a restraining order against Madden, 46. Bowman claimed he allegedly physically assaulted her on July 21 at their Los Angeles home during a confrontation over the text messages. (TMZ<\/em> <\/a>was the first to report the claims.)<\/p>\n

Per the court filings, Bowman claimed she was \u201cterrified\u201d when Madden went \u201cinsane\u201d after she confront him over the texts, which she alleges included \u201csexting teens about his rape fantasy and soliciting lewd images.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am completely traumatized by the discovery that respondent has been engaging in behavior with high school girls that is probably criminal,\u201d Bowman wrote in the court document, per Billboard<\/em><\/a>. \u201cWhen I discovered this, I approached him about it and said that I knew what was going on. Respondent then physically beat me repeatedly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMaroon 5\u2019s Mickey Madden was arrested following allegations of domestic violence on Saturday, June 27. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, June 30, that the bassist, 41, was charged with violating California penal code 237.5 (a), which makes it illegal for someone to \u201cwillfully inflict corporal injury resulting in a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bowman accused Madden of shoving her into a kitchen counter as well as chasing her outside their home and pushing her into a gate.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe put both his arms around my body around my abdomen and arms to restrain me. He then slammed my body against the marble kitchen counter,\u201d she wrote in the court documents. \u201cI felt pain in my hip and waist area. He shoved me to the ground and was out of his mind. I landed on my knees. He kept screaming for me to give him the phone. He appeared literally insane to me. I had never seen such uncontrollable anger and a completely different person.\u201d<\/p>\n

Per the court filings cited by People,<\/em><\/a> Bowman discovered the alleged texts after being alerted by a teenage girl who informed Bowman of the texts she was reportedly receiving from Madden.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was extremely hurt and disturbed. I needed to understand what was going on between them,\u201d Bowman\u2019s statement read. \u201cWhen he denied it, I asked him to hand me his phone. He would not hand me his phone, but I could see that he was quickly deleting the evidence from his phone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Per reports, screenshotted text messages were submitted as part of the court filings including an exchange where Madden described the sexting as \u201cA private and fake harmless fantasy\u201d and insisted the text had \u201cNo bearing on real life at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDoing what\u2019s best.\u00a0Mickey Madden, the bassist for Maroon 5, announced his temporary departure from the popular band following his June arrest. \u201cI have some things that I need to deal with and address right now and so I have decided to leave Maroon 5,\u201d the 41-year-old musician said in a statement to Rolling Stone. \u201cDuring [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a text exchange submitted, Madden allegedly texted Bowman: \u201cI am beyond sorry for my actions and for engaging in any form of expression of those impulses..it\u2019s all completely unacceptable. but I have to draw the line at that characterization of what I did ..This was entirely relegated to text..It\u2019s not excusable by any means but I have to make it clear that I would never act on any of that consensual fantasy talk.\u201d<\/p>\n
