So, just that knowledge made me excited, and now that it\u2019s sitting at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/weapons\" target=\"_blank\">100% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, I am even more excited. Between <i>Weapons<\/i> and <i>Sinners<\/i>, it\u2019s fun to see totally new stories get so much hype at the movies this year. Yes, there is still fun to be had with existing IPs and sequels, but man, original stories making a comeback feels so freakin\u2019 good.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"subbuzz__media\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-subbuzz-wrapper \">\n<div>\n<div class=\"subbuzz buzz-width--standard__subbuzz buzz-type--list__subbuzz subbuzz-image subbuzz-index-10 \" data-module=\"subbuzz-image\">\n<h2 class=\"subbuzz__header subbuzz__header--standard subbuzz__title \">\n<p> <span class=\"js-subbuzz__title-text\">A lot of times, these nostalgia-fueled sequels are an absolute miss. See: the <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/reviews\/disenchanted-review-amy-adams-maya-rudolph-patrick-dempsey-1235436368\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Enchanted<\/i><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/reviews\/disenchanted-review-amy-adams-maya-rudolph-patrick-dempsey-1235436368\/\" target=\"_blank\">sequel<\/a>. They are often written for a Gen Z audience when they should be written for the audience that grew up with the original. So, my hopes were not that high for <i>Freakier Friday<\/i>. However, this movie <a href=\"https:\/\/letterboxd.com\/noradominick\/film\/freakier-friday\/\" target=\"_blank\">proved me wrong<\/a> in all the best ways. Lindsay Lohan is back in her Disney movie element with this movie, which follows Anna (Lohan), whose daughter (Julia Butters) is struggling to adjust to life with Anna\u2019s boyfriend (Manny Jacinto) and his daughter (Sophia Hammons).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"subbuzz__media\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-subbuzz-wrapper \">\n<div>\n<div class=\"subbuzz buzz-width--standard__subbuzz buzz-type--list__subbuzz subbuzz-image subbuzz-index-11 \" data-keywords=\"fast fashion\" data-module=\"subbuzz-image\">\n<h2 class=\"subbuzz__header subbuzz__header--standard subbuzz__title \">\n<p> <span class=\"js-subbuzz__title-text\">Of course, a good ol\u2019 fashioned body swap between Anna, Harper, Lily, and Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) sets this movie off on a hilarious course. I genuinely laughed during this movie, and I think it\u2019s probably one of the best sequels in this genre. So, when I tell you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9hvjJEXoIhs\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Outlander: Blood of My Blood<\/i><\/a> is the best prequel series, I mean it. The show follows two parallel love stories: Jamie\u2019s parents, Brian (Jamie Roy) and Ellen (Harriet Slater), and Claire\u2019s parents, Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry (Jeremy Irvine).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"subbuzz__media\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-subbuzz-wrapper \">\n<div>\n<div class=\"subbuzz buzz-width--standard__subbuzz buzz-type--list__subbuzz subbuzz-image subbuzz-index-14 \" data-keywords=\"fast fashion\" data-module=\"subbuzz-image\">\n<h2 class=\"subbuzz__header subbuzz__header--standard subbuzz__title \">\n<p> <span class=\"js-subbuzz__title-text\">It is such a beautifully crafted (and romantic) show, anchored by perfect performances by Roy, Slater, Corfield, and Irvine. It\u2019s rare that lightning strikes twice, but somehow the <i>Outlander<\/i> casting department has managed to find some of the most outstanding chemistry between costars yet again. Also, as an <i>Outlander<\/i> fan, Easter eggs and details abound in <i>Blood of My Blood<\/i>, and connecting the dots and finding out new things that happened is half the fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"subbuzz__media\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-subbuzz-wrapper \">\n<div>\n<div class=\"subbuzz buzz-width--standard__subbuzz buzz-type--list__subbuzz subbuzz-image subbuzz-index-16 \" data-keywords=\"fast fashion\" data-module=\"subbuzz-image\">\n<h2 class=\"subbuzz__header subbuzz__header--standard subbuzz__title \">\n<p> <span class=\"js-subbuzz__title-text\">It might be because I live in the cross section of \u201cFilm Twitter\u201d and \u201cMarvel Twitter,\u201d but all my timelines are freaking out about this week is Tom Holland beginning filming on <i>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/i>, the long-awaited fourth Spidey film, which is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"subbuzz__media\">\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-subbuzz-wrapper \">\n<div>\n<div class=\"subbuzz buzz-width--standard__subbuzz buzz-type--list__subbuzz subbuzz-image subbuzz-index-18 \" data-module=\"subbuzz-image\">\n<h2 class=\"subbuzz__header subbuzz__header--standard subbuzz__title \">\n<p> <span class=\"js-subbuzz__title-text\">There might be superhero fatigue at the box office, but I don\u2019t think that EVER includes Spider-Man. People are hyped. I am hyped. Everyone, like me, is freaking out, with scenes from the book <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/raisyscalloway\/status\/1953008261638012929\" target=\"_blank\">translated word for word<\/a>. From the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lqveisabel\/status\/1952999617529888794\" target=\"_blank\">peach scene<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/chappellofliv\/status\/1953018400789103047\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cnail gun\u201d quote<\/a>, we got it all, and it was probably the best episode so far this season.
