George Clooney<\/strong><\/a> returned to the Venice Film Festival with wife Amal Clooney<\/strong><\/a> by his side after skipping several events due to illness.<\/p>\n

The glamorous couple stepped out together for the world premiere of George\u2019s new film, Jay Kelly<\/em><\/a>, on Thursday, August 28 in Italy.<\/p>\n

Amal, 47, turned heads in a vintage 1995 Jean-Louis Scherre fuchsia minidress which featured a floor-length train. The human rights lawyer posed arm-in-arm with George, 64, who looked suave for the date night in a dapper black suit teamed with a matching bow tie.<\/p>\n

The pair put on a loved-up display on the red carpet, cozying up to one another for photos. At one point, George was photographed kissing Amal\u2019s hand.<\/p>\n

The outing comes after George was forced to bail<\/a> on several earlier Venice Film Festival work obligations after being too sick to attend.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, George has a sinus infection and, under doctor\u2019s orders, he has had to scale back his activities today,\u201d a representative told People<\/em> on Wednesday, August 27, confirming why the actor skipped the day\u2019s events.<\/p>\n

Prior to the Jay Kelly<\/em> premiere, George did not attend a press conference for the movie held earlier on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you may know, George Clooney is not going to be here because he has a bad sinus infection,\u201d the moderator said. \u201cWe really hope, and I think he should be on the red carpet tonight. But he is very sorry he cannot be with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Director Noah Baumbach<\/strong> joked, \u201cEven movie stars get sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

George and Amal\u2019s relationship appears to be going from strength to strength after the pair first met at the Ocean Eleven<\/em> star\u2019s Lake Como home in July 2013. After falling in love, they married in 2014 and welcomed twins Alexander and Ella in 2017.<\/p>\n

The E.R.<\/em> alum has often credited finding love with Amal later in life as the reason they get along so well the majority of the time and do not argue.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a thing about finding the person that you needed to find, particularly at a certain age, and everything from then on is easy,\u201d he told The New York Times<\/em> <\/a>in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe renovated our house,\u201d Clooney continued. \u201cAmal would go, \u2018I want to paint this wall yellow.\u2019 Well, if I was 27 years old and doing construction work, I would\u2019ve been like, \u2018Well, that\u2019s a stupid color.\u2019 But the truth of the matter is that at 60, you just go, \u2018OK.\u2019 There are so many things that would have caused friction that don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Echoing a similar sentiment during an appearance on CBS Mornings<\/em> in April, George insisted that he and Amal \u201cnever had an argument. We still haven\u2019t. We\u2019re trying to find something to fight about.\u201d<\/p>\n
