Tina Knowles<\/strong><\/a> had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction at an event for her new book Matriarch: A Memoir<\/em><\/a> before Keke Palmer<\/strong><\/a> came to her rescue.<\/p>\n

Palmer, 31, was the guest moderator at a discussion with Knowles, 71, about her memoir in Los Angeles on Friday, May 2, when the snafu occurred. TikTok footage<\/a> shows Palmer assisting Knowles on stage as the author tries to hold up her strapless gown.<\/p>\n

In the footage, an attendant rushes on stage to lend a hand too, with Knowles eventually being able to adjust her outfit. All throughout the awkward ordeal, Palmer kept fans laughing with a series of one-liners.<\/p>\n

As she mimicked some of the shocked faces of audience members, Palmer quipped, \u201cThey was acting like it was a whole murder show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was serious,\u201d she teased. \u201cI saw the teleprompter [start] typing, \u2018We need something.\u2019 What the hell do you mean? They went in for no reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she pivoted back to the book discussion, Palmer got in one final joke, \u201cThey was gonna give me a heart attack! Whew! So back to the book.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tina is in Los Angeles to promote her memoir on the same weekend as her daughter, Beyonc\u00e9 Knowles-Carter<\/strong><\/a>, headlines a five-night stint at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California to open her Cowboy Carter<\/em> Tour. The stars were out for the Cowboy Carter<\/em> Tour<\/a> on Thursday, May 1, including Mindy Kaling<\/strong>, Ariana Madix<\/strong>, Chrishell Stause<\/strong> and Emma Hernan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The fashion designer and businesswoman took to Instagram on Tuesday, October 29, to announce her upcoming memoir, Matriarch, which will be released on April 22, 2025. Knowles, 70, also shared a photo of the cover, which features a painted portrait of herself inside [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Released on April 22, Matriarch<\/em> offers an intimate look at how Tina and ex-husband Mathew Knowles<\/strong> navigated the careers of their daughters, Beyonc\u00e9 and Solange Knowles<\/strong>. (Tina and Mathew divorced in 2011. She was later married\u00a0<\/a>to actor Richard Lawson<\/strong> from 2015 to 2024<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

One of the biggest revelations in Matriarch<\/em> was Tina disclosing a private battle with breast cancer<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy doctor told me I had breast cancer. A small tumor in my left breast that was cancerous; the larger tumor in my right breast was benign, but it would also have to go,\u201d Knowles wrote. \u201cShe said I was Stage 1A, assuring me my prognosis was good. The next step was to talk to an oncologist and a breast surgeon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTina Knowles opened up about her tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Mathew Knowles, revealing that the duo briefly considered reconciling after she filed for divorce. In her new memoir, Matriarch, Tina, 71, recalled filing for divorce in November 2009 after Mathew, 73, fathered a child with another woman. \u201cThis was different from the other times I [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She went on, \u201cI sat there in a daze, rubbing my neck. I immediately thought of my father, all those times taking him to chemo and how much cancer took from him. I had been through all of this stuff in life getting to be 70 years old, and now I\u2019m gonna get cancer?\u201d<\/p>\n

Tina wrote that she soon decided to tackle her diagnosis with \u201cprecision\u201d by consulting with Beyonc\u00e9 and Solange to find a cancer specialist before undergoing surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy girls became my team,\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

Although she was eventually declared \u201ccancer-free\u201d<\/a> following treatment, Tina confirmed that she dealt with multiple complications, including developing a hematoma and a lingering infection.<\/p>\n
