Naomi Judd<\/strong><\/a> and Larry Strickland<\/strong><\/a> were married for more than 30 years, weathering many storms throughout their relationship \u2014 including allegations of infidelity.<\/p>\n

In the new Lifetime docuseries The Judd Family: Truth Be Told<\/em>, Strickland opened up<\/a> about his marriage to Judd, who died by suicide<\/a> in April 2022 at age 76. \u201cI mean, it was almost a love at first sight kind of thing,\u201d Strickland recalled in episode 2 of the series, which premiered Saturday, May 10.<\/p>\n

While Judd and Strickland tied the knot in 1989, their romance wasn\u2019t always sunshine and roses. As she recounted in her memoir, she once received a phone call from a woman who said she missed Strickland. In response, Judd cut up all her pictures of Strickland and threw his belongings in the yard in trash bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, it was hell. I heard everything,\u201d Naomi\u2019s daughter Ashley Judd<\/strong> recalled in the docuseries. \u201cI heard Mom\u2019s phone calls to him on the road, I heard them fight, I heard them not fight, I heard it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 1995, Naomi produced a TV movie about her life called Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge<\/em>, which included a scene where Naomi shot at Strickland after accusing him of infidelity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, it really happened, that\u2019s all I can say,\u201d Strickland said in episode 2 after watching the clip. \u201cThat\u2019s all I wanna say. It happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their ups and downs, Strickland and Naomi stayed together until her death. While her suicide came as a shock to fans, Strickland said she was struggling behind the scenes near the end of her life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a couch, and in the latter days, she layed on that couch. She just couldn\u2019t get off of that couch,\u201d he recalled. \u201cToward the end, the last year of her life, it was just about every night she would be in a panic mode.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Judd Family: Truth Be Told trailer teases the \u201csecrets\u201d harbored within the famous family. \u201cI was so proud of their success,\u201d Ashley Judd said in the Lifetime documentary trailer, which was released on Thursday, April 10, referring to her late mother, Naomi Judd, and sister Wynonna Judd. Wynonna, 60, painted a darker picture. (She [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Naomi\u2019s eldest daughter, Wynonna Judd<\/strong>, also mentioned the couch, admitting that she didn\u2019t always know<\/a> how much her mother was suffering.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the things I didn\u2019t know is how much she struggled on the couch,\u201d the singer, 60, recalled. \u201cThat stupid couch, that\u2019s where she spent a lot of time, and I did not know that. I was so caught up in my own success and trying to keep it going and be that person. One of the reasons I have decided that Mom left this world is because of trauma, generational trauma. Family stuff that never got healed or fixed.\u201d<\/p>\n
