As Duck Dynasty<\/em><\/a> alum Phil Robertson<\/strong><\/a> continues to battle Alzheimer\u2019s, his wife, Kay Robertson<\/strong>, is facing health challenges of her own.<\/p>\n

\u201cDad\u2019s not doing well at all. It\u2019s definitely progressing,\u201d their son Willie Robertson<\/strong><\/a> exclusively shares in Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>\u2019s latest cover story. \u201cAnd mom has shown the same type of symptoms of Alzheimer\u2019s or dementia. It\u2019s just part of life \u2014 and mom has her good days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Willie, 53, notes it was \u201cgreat\u201d to have his mother make an appearance on the upcoming series Duck Dynasty: The Revival<\/em><\/a>, but tells Us<\/em> fans of the original reality show shouldn\u2019t expect frequent cameos. \u201cShe\u2019s probably not going to be able to do that in the future,\u201d he says. \u201cShe also has more health problems, as well. But we\u2019re there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The family\u2019s close-knit relationship has been stronger than ever amid Phil, 79, and Kay\u2019s health struggles. \u201cWe [still] spend time together, but they lived a great journey and taught us a lot,\u201d Willie tells Us<\/em>. \u201c[My wife] Korie<\/strong> [Robertson<\/strong>]<\/a> and I are very appreciative of what we were able to do on Duck Dynasty<\/em>, to be able to see that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDuck Dynasty is returning to A&E \u2014 but not every member of the Robertson family will be featured in the revival. The original show, which aired from 2012 to 2017, gave viewers an inside look at the lives of the Louisiana natives and their business, Duck Commander. In addition to patriarch Phil Robertson and his [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Reflecting on his parents\u2019 reality TV stardom, he continued, \u201cI think people don\u2019t realize [when] the show started for them and Uncle Si<\/strong> [Robertson<\/strong>], they were all in their mid-sixties, and so they were retired and pretty much done. They thought they\u2019d done everything in life. And so, for them to have that last push and be on television, and I\u2019m just glad that people got to see them and enjoy that when we had that time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Willie is one of Phil and Kay\u2019s four children, including brothers Alan<\/strong>, Jase<\/strong> and Jep<\/strong>. In 2020, Phil learned he is also father of a daughter<\/a> named Phyllis<\/strong> following an affair he had in the \u201870s.<\/p>\n

On a December 2024 episode of the \u201cUnashamed with the Robertson Family\u201d podcast<\/a>, Jase, 55, revealed that his father had been diagnosed with Alzheimer\u2019s disease<\/a>. Jase told his podcast listeners last month that Phil\u2019s health \u201chasn\u2019t been good.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Amid a \u201creally difficult\u201d past year, Korie, 51, tells Us<\/em> it\u2019s been \u201csweet\u201d to see how her husband has stepped up to look after his parents. \u201cThey\u2019ve just come together and just really, it\u2019s brought the family together in a way,\u201d she explains. \u201cAnd I know sometimes that can be something that tears families apart, but for our family, everyone\u2019s just come around and brought them together.\u201d<\/p>\n

Willie agreed that his parents\u2019 health gives him a greater appreciation for the \u201csmall, tiny moments\u201d in life, in addition to bringing him and his siblings closer. \u201cI\u2019m glad they\u2019re here,\u201d he says. \u201cI\u2019m glad I get to see them a lot, too, \u2018cause I know a lot of families don\u2019t get to see each other a lot, but we do. It really has meant a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans will soon get to see the famous family back on screen when Duck Dynasty: The Revival<\/em> premieres on Friday, June 1. The cast includes Willie and Korie\u2019s daughter Sadie Robertson<\/strong>, who also exclusively opens up about her grandparents\u2019 health in Us<\/em>\u2019 newest cover story. (Willie and Kori share a total of six kids, including Rebecca, 36, John, 29, Will, 23, Bella, 22, and Rowdy, 22.)<\/p>\n
